Congratulations ... You're pregnant!
The first consultation takes place ideally around 7-8 weeks of pregnancy (from the last menstruation).
To obtain an appointment within this period, it is better to contact the secretary directly at +32 2 675 75 35 every working day between 8 am-10 am and between 2 pm-4 pm.
According to the date of the last menstrual period, an appointment will be proposed.
Pending the appointment, a blood test could already be performed. This can be done by the midwife at the doctor's office (Wednesday or Friday) after appointment. But if you prefer, the request can be sent by mail and can be done by your general practitioner or at a collection center of your choice.
A first ultrasound will be done in order to date and evaluate the pregnancy.
Pregnancy follow-up consultations will be held approximately once a month.
It is also possible to follow-up alternately with the midwife, who works in close relation with Dr Swimberghe.
At the end of pregnancy, the consultations are more frequent, in order to exclude any risk of complication.

Pregnancy is a unique moment of your life during which diet is of considerable importance!
Combined with a healthy lifestyle, a balanced diet contributes to the smooth running of your pregnancy and contributes to the harmonious development of your baby by covering the nutritional needs that are essential during this period !
It is advisable to continue this particular attention throughout the whole period of breastfeeding.
During pregnancy, it is advisable to supplement your daily diet with vitamins and trace elements (vitamin B9, iron, iodine, vitamin D, calcium, vit B1, B2, B6, B12, vit C)

Of course these tips are informative and not exhaustive !
There are many activities to prepare you physically for the birth, depending on your approach and your birth plan.
Often you are invited to start physiotherapy sessions.
This can be done individually or in a group.
In general, these sessions start from the 6th month of pregnancy.
There are other types of preparation, such as haptonomy, or sophrology. These often begin earlier in pregnancy, once you feel your baby moving.
Obviously, these types of preparation do not exclude any other informative or physical activities (follow up by a midwife, prenatal classes, aquagym or prenatal yoga, etc.)
The goal is to prepare you for the best and the best for your baby, while respecting your approach and your personal choices.
